Oct 24, 20170183;32;The concentrator contains a separate circuit for recovery of copper from the onsite smelter slag. Slag can contain between 8 and 10% Cu and is sent to its own process line containing a SAG mill two ball mills, and floatation circuit. The Chuquicamata mines smelting process involves two stages a smelting stage and a conversion stage.
The obtained Cuconcentrate is sent to the pyrometallurgical process. If grinding is not fine enough for efficient flotation, copper is lost in tailings. In this paper, the ferric leaching of slag flotation tailings is studied. Copper extractions of 66% are achieved by ferric leaching, and Cu content in tailings is reduced from 0.78% to 0.24%.
Copper Slag Flotation Chuquicamata. We are a largescale manufacturer specializing in producing various mining machines including different types of sand and gravel equipment, milling equipment, mineral processing equipment and building materials equipment. And they are mainly used to crush coarse minerals like gold and copper ore, metals like steel and iron, glass, coal, asphalt, gravel,
Abstract Copper smelter slag and copper smelter slag flotation tailings were leached using sulphuric acid solutions, without or with the addition of either ferric sulphate or hydrogen peroxide. Copper extraction from the slag was typically found to be twice as high as that from the slag flotation tailings.
